I was at Carl’s Jr. the other day enjoying my Super Nachos.
I was sitting near a few associates who were talking about the
stresses of their life. The one lady was talking about another lady
that works there… she also works at McDonalds. In fact she closes
as McDonalds every day and gets off around 1am… she opens at Carl’s
Jr. and gets to this store around 3am. Apparently she gets around 3
hours of sleep a night. I dont know where that is figured in… but
somewhere its there. The associate has a few children to boot. Well
you think she is going to go to a Community College to further her
education? The other two people that were talking did not seem like
they were much better off… one talked about how he hopes he’ll be
getting a driver’s license soon (he was older than i was). I think
sometimes its important for us to sit back and think about the people
that are there for us daily serving us our food and think about who is
serving their food…

Oh one more thing… at Carl’s Jr. I noticed the one associate pray
before opening his $1 cheeseburger… when was the last time you
blessed the lord for the food you were about to eat?

I hope this isn’t too extensive or that you are uninterested in what
I’m saying… its just some social observations.

I was talking to a friend the other day and she was mentioning to me
how her mother is very religious and she understands the reason. I
mentioned Faith needs no reasoning… well she mentioned that when her
brother died her mother embraced religion as solace knowing that she’d
be with her son again one day and that he was in a better place. To
me this is not faith at all and religious beliefs should not be based
upon tragic accidents. Its one reason why i consider myself an
absurdist… life is truly absurd.

I apologize for this letter, but being so far away i feel like you
guys have no idea who i am anymore.
